Almotasem Bellah Alathafa, known as Alp, is a Turkish entrepreneur of Syrian origin and owner of BASMA Global, an Istanbul-based freight and logistics company serving the Gulf.
His logistics career began in 2014 in Istanbul, serving Arabic-speaking residents of Türkiye and merchants shipping goods to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait. BASMA (formerly Basma Express, today BASMA Global) has operated in this field since that year; the company was registered under its current legal entity, BASMA GLOBAL LOJİSTİK LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, at a later stage.
Today BASMA Global offers customs-cleared commercial door delivery to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait, luggage and excess-baggage shipping for travellers, and storage, last-mile delivery and cash-on-delivery collection for e-commerce stores in the Gulf, with warehouses in Dubai, Jeddah, Dammam and Kuwait and an operating partnership with SMSA.
Alongside BASMA Global, he holds business interests in TOTOL KARGO and BOX HUB in Türkiye, and in Turood Global in the UAE.
He holds a master's degree in Arabic language and lives in Istanbul.
